Bulldogs host Volleydawg tourney

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s volleyball team defeated Martin Methodist, 3-1, Wednesday night in Pulaski, Tenn., and will host a weekend tournament at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center Friday and Saturday.
 
The Bulldogs improved to 3-2 in TranSouth play and 10-7 overall with the 25-21, 21-25, 25-17, 25-16 victory.
 
Cumberland and head coach Dwayne Deering will host Union, Pikeville, Brescia and the University of the Cumberlands in a round-robin tournament this weekend on campus. The Bulldogs play Friday at 3 p.m. (Union) and 7 p.m. (Pikeville) and again Saturday at 9 a.m. (University of the Cumberlands) and 1 p.m. (Brescia).
 
The squad returns to TranSouth Conference action on October 30, facing Freed-Hardeman on the road, and plays at home again on October 3 versus Mid-Continent on Homecoming weekend.
