Jared Klosterboer begins his first season as head cross country coach at Cumberland University after a baseball career at Indian Hills Community College and Iowa Wesleyan as well as a year in coaching at Ellsworth Community College.
Klosterboer received an associate’s at Indian Hills while a member of the baseball team in 2007 and 2008, earning Academic All-Region XI both seasons and NJCAA Academic All-America honors as a sophomore.
He played his final two years at Iowa Wesleyan, including a four-game series against the Bulldogs at Ernest L. Stockton Field in 2009. He spent the 2011 season as an assistant coach in charge of corner infielders and assisting with the hitters at Ellsworth.
Klosterboer served as the head coach for the freshmen and the assistant varsity baseball coach at Williamsburg High School during the summers of 2007, 2008 and 2011. He was involved in the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, S.C., in tournament operations and as a member of the grounds crew during the Summer of 2009.
Klosterboer graduated from Iowa Wesleyan with a bachelor’s in Sports Management in December 2010 and is currently enrolled in the master’s program in Education at Cumberland.
