LEBANON, Tenn. – Junior Amber Mays, freshman Sasha Petrova and junior Riley Kilian all finished in the Top 50 on Saturday for Cumberland women’s cross country at the 12th Annual Sand Shark Invitational in Hardeeville, S.C.

The Phoenix finished eighth among 34 teams and 292 runners in the 5K event at Sergeant Jasper Park in Hardeeville.

Mays registered a 37th-place showing for the Phoenix, crossing the finish line in 19:30.7, while Petrova placed 44th in 19:36.7 and Kilian finished 47th in 19:42.8.

Junior Abby Gawthrop and seniors Taylor Blankenship and Claudia Tepox also finished in a pack, with Gawthorp placing 64th in 20:03.1. Blankenship finished 65th in 20:06.5 and Tepox was 67th in 20:15.0.

Junior Gavin DuVall placed 86th for Cumberland in 20:49.3 and sophomore Hannah Spring was 155th in 22:07.2.

The Phoenix in two weeks at the Mid-South Conference Championships in Bowling Green, Ky.
