LEBANON, Tenn.-- The women's cross country team finished the Louisville Classic 5k in 1:41:26 to finish 31st out of 62 teams Saturday in Louisville, Ky.
Similar to the men's team, the women also had some runners missing due to nagging injuries, but despite that three student-athletes--Abby Gawthorp, Hannah Spring, and Victoria Reales Pruano--managed to record season best times. Amber Mays led the charge for the Phoenix, finishing 31st with a time of 18:59.5.
Gawthorp, 19:47.2, and Sasha Petrova 20:03.7, both placed in the 100s, placing 116th and 159th, respectively. Elise Krone came in 293rd with a time of 21:04.5. Hannah Spring, 340th, and Reales Pruano, 412th, finished off the list of Cumberland runners with times of 21:31.2 for Spring and 22:24.9 for Reales Pruano.
Women's cross country competes in the Fast Cats Classic in Owensboro, Ky., this coming Saturday for their next meet.
