Stuckey tied for seventh at Callaway Gardens

LEBANON, Tenn. – Sophomore Morgan Stuckey carded an opening-round 78, tied for seventh, and Cumberland stands 10th among 16 teams after the opening round of the Callaway Gardens Invitational on Monday in Pine Mountain, Ga.

The Milan, Tenn., native stands five shots behind USC-Beaufort’s Franzi Knoetsch, who shot two-over par 73 on Monday, while Constanze Sieker from the University of the Cumberlands and Rhodes College’s Emily Salamy both posted scores of 75 for second place, three strokes ahead of Stuckey. She collected eight pars and two birdies in her round of 78.

Sophomore Abbey Burgdorf opened play with an 86, tied for 40th, while sophomore Savanna Strode registered an opening-round 89, tied for 51st.

Freshman Tessa Barto carded a first-round 96 on the par-71, 5,808-yard Lake View Course, tied for 76th, and freshman Anna Leigh Cleveland recorded an opening-round 105, tied for 85th.

Cumberland finishes action in the tournament on Tuesday.
