LEBANON, Tenn. – Sophomore Ana Laura Pages Preuss recorded a five-over par 77 and senior Abbey Burgdorf and sophomore Raquel Romero Valverde each shot 78 for Cumberland women’s golf on Monday in the first day of the Metro Parks-Town and Country Invitational at McCabe Golf Course in Nashville, Tenn.
Pages Preuss collected 12 pars in her round of 77, standing 12th individually after 18 holes. Austin Peay’s Anna Michelle Moore leads the tournament after shooting two-under par 70, two strokes ahead of teammate Ashton Goodley.
Burgdorf posted nine pars and two birdies in her 78 while Romero Valverde made three birdies. The duo is tied for 13th in the field of 40 players.
Senior Savanna Strode registered 10 pars while shooting 79 on Monday, tied for 22nd, and junior Anna Leigh Cleveland carded a first-round 86, good for 34th place.
Cumberland stands fourth as a team after one round with a score of 312, six strokes behind third-place Lipscomb University. Austin Peay holds the team lead by 13 shots over Belmont.
