Former national champion Lowman joins CU wrestling staff
Two-time national champion and three-time All-American Chad Lowman has joined the CU wrestling staff as a full-time assistant coach.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University wrestling coach James Hicks announced the hiring of former two-time national champion and three-time All-American Chad Lowman as a full-time assistant with the Phoenix for the coming season.

Lowman served as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Grand View University, the last two seasons, helping the Vikings to consecutive national championships. He coached 19 All-Americans and five national champions in those two campaigns.

The Des Moines, Iowa, native won national championships individually as a junior and senior at GVU and placed third as a sophomore. He was a two-time Daktronics-NAIA Sc holar-Athlete and posted the highest grade-point-average of all the national champions both his junior and senior seasons.

Lowman earned a bachelor’s in Sport Management from Grand View in April 2014 and finished his master’s in Sport Management with an emphasis in Marketing from Grand View in December 2015.
