LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland soccer coach Jeff Loucks announced the signing of McGavock High School product Ashley Rolen to scholarship papers for the 2010-11 academic year.

Rolen becomes the fourth signee for the Bulldogs for next season, joining Rhianne Parsons (Tavistock, Milton Abbot, England), Mackenzie Park (White House, Tenn.) and Hanna Sparks (Murfreesboro, Tenn.).

Rolen was selected All-District as a junior and senior and was a four-year letterwinner for coach Wynn Hodge at McGavock. She was also an All-Region selection as a junior and helped MHS to four straight district championships. She was voted Defensive MVP as a junior and All-District Tournament as a senior.

“Ashley is a very athletic utility player from McGavock,” Loucks said. “Tactically her knowledge is lacking a bit, but her athleticism allowed her win All-District and All-Region honors.

“She is also an intelligent young lady. It will not take her long to learn what she needs. We look forward to having Ashley join the squad.”

Rolen is a member of the Student Council and was a Leadership Student as a junior. She is the daughter of Paul and Tabatha Rolen.
