LEBANON, Tenn. – Helena Dimantas Farias scored the match’s only goal in the 63rd minute and Simone Quinn made six saves in goal in Cumberland’s 1-0 victory over Bryan College Wednesday night in Dayton, Tenn.
Dimantas Farias netted her team-best eighth goal of the season for the Bulldogs (5-6-1) from right of the net, dribbling past several defenders before finally finding the back of the net.
Cumberland controlled play for much of the match, outshooting the Lions, 18-9. Bryan (7-7-1) keeper Stephanie Gagnon recorded seven saves in goal, but allowed the match’s lone goal.
Cumberland plays its final home match of the year Tuesday against rival Trevecca Nazarene starting at 1 p.m. The men’s match will follow before the Bulldogs conclude the regular season with matches at Kentucky Wesleyan on October 29 and Freed-Hardeman on November 2.
