LEBANON, Tenn. – Helena Dimantas Farias scored a pair of goals and Kaitlin Phillips added a goal and an assist in Cumberland’s 5-0 victory over Barton College in the Bulldog Classic on Saturday in Barbourville, Ky.

Cumberland (2-0) again controlled play for much of the match, outshooting Barton, 22-6, including 13-2 in the second half. Phillips put the Bulldogs ahead on an assist from Stephanie Twardowski in the seventh minute and Beth Morgan scored a little more than a minute later on an assist from Phillips for an early 2-0 CU advantage.

Dimantas Farias netted her second goal of the young season in the 22nd minute on an assist from Morgan Shaffer and then found the back of the net on a free kick from just outside the box, much the same as she did on Friday, in the 62nd minute.

Candice Ray added the final goal for the Bulldogs on an assist from Rikki Mercado in the 87th minute.

Cumberland plays at Tennessee Wesleyan next Saturday in a men’s and women’s doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. CT.
