Dimantas Farias earns third POW honor

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s Helena Dimantas Farias was named the TranSouth Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday for the second consecutive week and third time this season after scoring three goals and recording four assists in a pair of victories over NCAA Division II opponents.

Dimantas Farias scored the first goal and then headed in the game-winner in the 104th minute in a 4-3 double overtime victory at King College on Wednesday. The Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, native assisted on the first two goals and scored the third in a 5-0 triumph against Oakland City University on Saturday.

The senior has nine goals and seven assists this season and leads the TranSouth in points (25), ranks tied for the league lead in assists and is tied for second in goals. Cumberland plays at Georgetown College on Tuesday in its only match this coming week.
