LEBANON, Tenn. – Kelsey Langille scored four times, Shauna Gilpin posted two goals and Kaitlin Phillips handed out three assists in Cumberland’s 8-2 victory over Union College in women’s soccer action Wednesday afternoon at Lindsey Donnell Stadium-Kirk Field.

The Bulldogs (9-2-0) led 5-0 at the half and outshot the visitors 33-11 in the victory.

The Bulldogs scored quickly to start the match, with Langille beating the keeper (who was near the top of the box) to a long ball off the foot of Simone Quinn. She passed across to Parsons, who lofted a shot from 25 yards over Burton’s head in the fourth minute.

Langille got on the board in the 15th minute, with Parsons sliding the ball past two defenders to the freshman, who finished from down the leftside.

Langille scored again in the 28th minute, this time from Gilpin, near the top of the box, and added her third goal of the match just two minutes later, taking a long ball from Mackenzie Keele, beating her defender and finishing low and right past Burton.

Gilpin got on the board in the 35th minute, taking a pass from Phillips and finding the back of the net from the leftside from about 10 yards.

Union found the back of the net early in the second half, with Sofie Jorgensen hitting the crossbar and Hayley Fox putting in the rebound, but Langille answered just nine seconds later on another assist from Phillips for a 6-1 CU advantage.

Gilpin scored her second goal of the match in the 73rd minute on assists from Phillips and Langille, the duo playing a nice combination ahead to Gilpin for her 10th goal of the season.

Freshman Meaghan Lyons netted her third goal of the year in the 78th minute, beating two defenders to a ball near the top of the box and lofting a shot over the head of Burton. Union scored the final goal from a tough angle, with Aline Dalmedico beating Lindsay Kitson with a hard shot from about 10 yards on the leftside for the final tally of the match in the 85th minute.

Kitson made two saves, both early in the first half, while Burton collected 11 saves for Union (6-3-1).
