LEBANON, Tenn. – Freshman Taylor Nay scored a goal and assisted on another in a 3-0 Cumberland victory over Georgetown College in women’s soccer action Saturday at Lindsey Donnell Stadium-Kirk Field.
The Bulldogs (11-2, 5-1 Mid-South) posted their fourth straight win while dominating possession in the match and outshooting the visiting Tigers, 25-6. But Georgetown (7-4-0, 5-3-0) keeper Kelsey Givens made eight saves, keeping CU off the board until late in the first half when Nay scored on a free kick in the 42nd minute.
Simone Quinn posted in a goal in the 78th minute on an assist from Nay, another free kick, and Rhianne Parsons added a goal for the Bulldogs in the final minute on an assist by Kelsey Langille.
Lindsay Kitson recorded four saves in net for Cumberland, registering her sixth shutout of the season.
Cumberland entertains St. Catharine College at home this Thursday at 1 p.m. in the club’s next-to-last home match of the season.
