Women's soccer ranks 23rd in Coaches' Poll

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland moved up two spots to No. 23 in the 2012 NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Tuesday.

The Bulldogs defeated NCAA Division II Union University, 1-0, in overtime and then won 10-0 in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference Championships against Shawnee State last week. Cumberland leads the nation in goals (87) as a team and ranks fourth in the country in shutouts (11). CU has won nine consecutive matches overall and stands 16-2-0 overall this season with its only losses to third-ranked Lindsey Wilson and No. 10 Martin Methodist.

Cumberland takes on Campbellsville University at 2:30 p.m. Central Time on Wednesday in the semifinals of the conference tournament.
