Bulldog summer camps underway

LEBANON, Tenn. – The Cumberland University athletics camps are in full swing as several different programs began working with campers over the last several weeks.


CU offering July soccer skills camp

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland soccer will offer a third skills camp for boys and girls this summer on July 21-25 from 9 a.m.-Noon for ages 8-18 at Lindsey Donnell Stadium on the CU campus.


Grant named full-time assistant coach

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland women’s soccer head coach Gavin McKinney announced this week the promotion of Adam Grant to full-time assistant coach effective immediately for the 2014 season. Grant has spent the last two years as a graduate assistant with the Bulldog program.


137 student-athletes named to Spring Dean's List

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University announced the 2014 Spring Semester Dean’s List last week, which includes 137 current and former student-athletes and athletic training majors. The honor is reserved for students who have achieved a grade-point-average of 3.50 or above on all classes attempted during the spring semester.


Soccer camps begin on June 9

LEBANON, Tenn. – The Cumberland University men’s and women’s soccer teams will host players ages 4-18 of any and all skill levels on June 9-13 for as summer camp. Ages 4-12 will participate from 9 a.m.-noon, while ages 13-18 will last from 5-8 p.m.


Women's soccer announces 2014 schedule

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University women’s soccer coach Gavin McKinney announced the club’s 2014 schedule on Thursday, which includes seven home matches and contests against five teams that finished the year ranked in the Top 25.


131 student-athletes, personnel set to graduate

LEBANON, Tenn. – A record 131 current and former Cumberland student-athletes, athletic trainers and athletic staff will receive their degrees this Saturday in the 172nd Commencement ceremonies on the lawn of Memorial Hall on the CU campus. It marks the fourth straight year of increase in the number of graduates for athletic department student-athletes and personnel.


Athletics set to honor Bulldog scholar-athletes

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland Athletics will host the Third Annual Scholar-Athlete Recognition Day with a breakfast for 132 current students at Immanuel Baptist Church on Friday, April 25. Current Bulldog student-athletes must maintain a 3.25 grade-point-average with at least 30 credit hours passed before the spring semester.


128 student-athletes named to Fall Dean's List

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University announced the 2013 Fall Dean’s List, which includes 128 student-athletes and athletic training majors. The honor is reserved for students who have achieved a GPA of 3.50 or above on all classes attempted during the fall semester.


Women's soccer ends year ranked eighth nationally

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland finished the season ranked tied for eighth nationally in the NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Postseason Top 25 Poll, the national office recently announced.


Six women's soccer players earn All-America honors

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland freshman Olivia Chu was voted Second Team All-American and junior Lindsay Kitson earned Third Team honors, as selected by the NAIA All-America Committee and announced by the national office this week. In addition, seniors Rhianne Parsons and Michelle Ward, junior Shauna Gilpin and sophomore Taylor Nay all earned Honorable Mention accolades.


Phillips, Ward, Morgan named NAIA Scholar-Athletes

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University’s Beth Morgan, Kaitlin Phillips and Michelle Ward were all named NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athletes on Friday by the national office. Student-athletes must be a junior or senior academically and maintain a 3.50 grade-point-average or better to be eligible for the award.

NAIA honors 13 Bulldog programs

LEBANON, Tenn. – A record 13 Cumberland University programs were honored as NAIA Scholar Teams over the weekend. Teams must post a minimum 3.0 grade-point-average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution and the team GPA includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
