LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland forward Shauna Gilpin earned her second straight Mid-South Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award on Monday after scoring a pair of goals in two CU victories.
The St. John’s, Newfoundland, native netted the game-tying goal in one match and the game-winner in another in CU's two outings during the week.
The senior posted the game-tying goal in the 65th minute at Campbellsville University on Thursday on an assist from Taylor Nay. Then on Saturday, she scored the only goal of the match at 17th-ranked Brenau University in the 60th minute, her 38th career goal in 64 career matches at Cumberland.
Gilpin added another goal in Monday night’s victory at Union University and leads the Bulldogs with six goals in six matches. Cumberland takes on seventh-ranked Davenport University in Columbia, Ky., on Friday before returning home for Sunday’s outing versus Shawnee State.
