LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s Shauna Gilpin earned Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for the fourth time this season after scoring six goals in a pair of matches.
The senior netted a career-best four goals versus the University of the Cumberlands, scoring twice in the first nine minutes and again in the 24th minute before finding the back of the net in the 59th minute as well.
The St. John’s, Newfoundland, native scored twice more and handed out an assist at the University of Pikeville. She scored in the 12th minute and assisted on an Emily Shires goal in the 14th minute. Gilpin posted her 17th goal of the year in the 39th minute as well.
She leads the conference in goals, points and game-winning goals (4) this season while ranking No. 4 nationally in all three categories. Cumberland, currently No. 3 nationally, hosts sixth-ranked Lindsey Wilson on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Lindsey Donnell Stadium-Kirk Field.
