CU drops to No. 24 in women's soccer poll

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland dropped three spots to No. 24 in this week’s NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, announced late Tuesday by the national office.

The Phoenix lost 4-2 to then 18th-ranked John Brown University on September 4 but picked up two wins later last week, a 5-0 victory at Brenau University and a 5-1 triumph over Point University, evening CU’s mark at 2-2-0 this season.

Cumberland allowed three shots to Brenau and Point after giving up 17 combined shots in the first two outings. The Phoenix had to reschedule Wednesday’s match against Indiana Wesleyan for September 22 because of weather. The club heads to Beckley, W.Va., this Saturday for a Noon CT kickoff versus West Virginia Tech.
