Bill McCormick enters his third season as the tennis coach at Cumberland for both the men’s and women’s programs.

McCormick is a United States Tennis Association (USTA) certified professional with 25 years of teaching experience. He has worked as the Head Professional at four different tennis clubs and has served as the Head Pro and Director of Tennis since 2000 at the Gallatin Civic Center/Municipal Tennis Facility in Gallatin, Tenn.

Previously McCormick spent 10 years as the Head Pro and Director of Tennis at Indian Lake Swim and Tennis Club in Hendersonville, Tenn., from 1995-2005.

Before moving to Nashville, McCormick was the Tennis Director for Courtyard Racquet Club, a multipurpose indoor and outdoor facility in Cincinnati, Ohio. As director he was in charge of all junior and adult tennis programs and special events.

He had worked previously as the Head Professional at Queen City Racquet Club in Cincinnati for 10 years, coaching many nationally ranked juniors, including several who won national junior and collegiate championships.

McCormick received a bachelor’s in Sociology from the University of Cincinnati in 1983. He played No. 1 singles and doubles for the Bearcats, serving as team captain and earning All-Metro Conference honors during his career.
