137 student-athletes named to Spring Dean's List

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University announced the 2014 Spring Semester Dean’s List last week, which includes 137 current and former student-athletes and athletic training majors. The honor is reserved for students who have achieved a grade-point-average of 3.50 or above on all classes attempted during the spring semester.


Four tennis players named NAIA Scholar-Athletes

LEBANON, Tenn. – Four Cumberland University tennis players – seniors Tais Lacerda Bezerra and Pedro Rodrigues and juniors Alena Gizdić and Andres Burgos – were all named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes during the national tournament last week in Mobile, Ala.


Smith, Gizdić named CoSIDA Academic All-District

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University senior Kayla Smith and junior Alena Gizdić were voted Capital One Academic All-District 2, as announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).


131 student-athletes, personnel set to graduate

LEBANON, Tenn. – A record 131 current and former Cumberland student-athletes, athletic trainers and athletic staff will receive their degrees this Saturday in the 172nd Commencement ceremonies on the lawn of Memorial Hall on the CU campus. It marks the fourth straight year of increase in the number of graduates for athletic department student-athletes and personnel.


Dedić, Sepulveda earn First Team All-MSC honors

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – Angelica Sepulveda and Antea Dedić were both named First Team All-Mid-South Conference in a vote of league coaches announced here Thursday by the league office during the conference championships.


Bulldog women fall 5-3 in MSC quarters

Athletics set to honor Bulldog scholar-athletes

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland Athletics will host the Third Annual Scholar-Athlete Recognition Day with a breakfast for 132 current students at Immanuel Baptist Church on Friday, April 25. Gizdić, Sepulveda lead women's tennis at ITA Regional

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s Alena Gizdić reached the quarterfinals in singles and Gizdić and Angelica Sepulveda lost in the semifinals in doubles, leading the Cumberland women’s tennis team at the ITA Southeast Regional last weekend in Georgetown, Ky. The tournament is the only fall competition for the squad.


NAIA honors 13 Bulldog programs

LEBANON, Tenn. – A record 13 Cumberland University programs were honored as NAIA Scholar Teams over the weekend. Teams must post a minimum 3.0 grade-point-average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution and the team GPA includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
