CU women sweep Pikeville

LEBANON, Tenn. – Fifteenth-ranked Cumberland swept the doubles and all six singles matches in a 9-0 victory against the University of Pikeville in women’s tennis action Saturday night at the Tommy Gray Memorial Courts.

The Phoenix (10-5, 2-2 Mid-South) started with three doubles wins, as Stefanie Navaratnam and Kylie Humphrey registered an 8-0 victory at No. 3 versus Camila Agudelo and Nagai. Marianela Landi and Ana María Collazos defeated Riley Mullins and Ashton Jones, 8-1, at No. 2 and sixth-ranked Jessica Hernandez and Ainhoa Garijo Garrido posted an 8-2 win versus Andrea Hurtado and Charlie Nijenhuis, 8-2, at No. 1.

Collazos posted a 6-1, 6-0, decision at No. 3 singles against Agudelo, Landi recorded a 6-3, 7-5, win at No. 2 over Nijenhuis and 13th-ranked Garijo Garrido defeated Hurtado, 5-7, 6-3, 10-4, at No. 1.

Navaratnam won 6-0, 6-0, against Nagai at No. 6 while Humphrey defeated Mullins, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 4 and Ksenija Dmitrovic registered a 6-0, 6-1, decision at No. 5 versus Jones.

Cumberland finishes the regular season next Saturday, hosting fourth-ranked Lindsey Wilson at 2 p.m.
