LEBANON, Tenn.- Cumberland’s Johanna Bangala, was voted Mid-South Conference Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week as announced on Monday by the league office.
Bangala helped the Phoenix in the ETSU Invitational by placing 2nd in the Women’s 200 meter in back to back days with times of 25.46 & 25.48 seconds.
Bangala continued to dominate for Cumberland as she placed 1st in back to back days in the Women’s 400 meter dash with times of 55.71 & 55.73 seconds.
Bangala broke her country’s national record in the 400 with the time of 55.71.
This is her first Mid-South Conference Athlete of the week award.
Cumberland will be competing in the Emory Crossplex Showdown on January 19th, in Birmingham AL.
