CU Welcomes Jimmy Wilson as Athletic Trainer

LEBANON, Tenn.-- Cumberland University Director of Athletic Training Kaitie Arnold announces the hiring of Jimmy Wilson as an assistant athletic trainer. Wilson will provide care for women's soccer, women's basketball, and men's and women's tennis.

Wilson has been providing Athletic Training services for Newberry College since August of 2020, covering Division II men's soccer and men's basketball teams. He would assist in other athletic programs practices and competitions as needed and provided treatments and rehabilitation for all Newberry College student-athletes both in and out of season.

Before his tenure at Newberry College, Wilson was a member of the athletic training department at East Stroudsburg University starting in August of 2019 up until August 2020. He provided athletic training services to the women's soccer and baseball team.

Wilson earned his bachelor's degree of Science in Athletic Training from the University of South Carolina in 2019. During his time at South Carolina, he assisted the head athletic trainer with facility management, evaluations of athletes, and on-field evaluations for in-game injuries. 

Wilson obtained his Master's degree of Science in Athletic Training from East Stroudsburg University. He is also a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association and has an American Red Cross CPR and AED for the Professional Rescuer Certification.
