Bulldogs head to Hattiesburg for NAIA Regional

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s baseball team will make yet another postseason appearance, making the 45-team regional field announced by the NAIA late Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs will head to a regional at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Miss., along with Southern Polytechnic State, Savannah College of Art & Design, Brescia University, and host William Carey.
 
The Bulldogs (32-23), the No. 4 seed in the five-team bracket, will face Brescia (33-22) at Noon Tuesday at Milton Wheeler Field on the William Carey campus in Hattiesburg. The winner of that game will face top-seeded Southern Poly (48-8) later that day at 7 p.m. SCAD and William Carey play at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
 
The tournament runs Tuesday through Thursday with an if necessary game Friday. The winner of the five-team bracket advances to the 53rd Annual Avista-NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho, May 22-29.
