CU drops a spot to 18th
Head coach Woody Hunt and the Bulldogs are ranked 18th nationally in this week's NAIA Coaches' Top 25 poll.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Despite posting a 4-1 record last week, including taking 2-of-3 games against the No. 7 team in the country, Cumberland dropped one spot to 18th in second edition of the 2011 NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll released Tuesday by the national office.

The Bulldogs swept a doubleheader from Georgetown College on March 29 and then took 2-of-3 games from then seventh-ranked Union University over the weekend, posting 10-0 and 10-5 victories and dropping a 4-1 decision. Cumberland won 9-8 in 13 innings over Lindsey Wilson late Tuesday, upping its overall record to 28-12 on the season, 8-4 in the TranSouth Conference.

CU has won nine of its last 10 games overall since March 22 and finished a stretch of 16 home contests in 20 outings with Tuesday’s game versus Lindsey Wilson. The Bulldogs play Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. CT at Campbellsville University. Cumberland will play 10 of its final 16 games of the regular season on the road.
