Five baseball players garner NAIA Scholar-Athlete accolades

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland baseball players Travis Dohr, Joseph Midgett, Rayden Sierra, Daulton Smith and Parker Ward earned 2018 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete on Friday, as announced by the national office at the conclusion of the Avista-NAIA Championships in Lewiston, Idaho.

Student-athletes must be a junior or senior and maintain a 3.50 grade-point-average to be eligible for the award.

Midgett posts a 3.98 GPA in Athletic Training while Sierra holds a 3.77 in Management and Smith carries a 3.74 in Mathematics, Secondary Education. Ward has a 3.56 in Criminal Justice/Public Administration and Dohr holds a 3.50 in Accounting.

A total of 411 student-athletes from 120 institutions were honored by the NAIA.
