Eighteen baseball players named Academic All-MSC

LEBANON, Tenn. – Eighteen Cumberland baseball players were named Academic All-Mid-South Conference, as announced Tuesday by the league office in advance of this week’s conference tournament that begins Thursday at Bowling Green Ballpark in Bowling Green, Ky.

Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically and maintain a 3.25 grade-point-average and above to be eligible for the award.

Seniors Daulton Smith, Bentley Jones, Jared Schmidt; juniors Kaleb Qualls, Cristian Straub, Alex Landis, Blake Young; and sophomores Matt Rowe, Wiley Barton, Wyatt Blessing, Caleb Davenport, Jackson Ferguson, Chase Ford, Davis Green, Cole Matherley, Dillon Miller, Corey Perkins and Gray Richards were all honored by the conference.

Cumberland tied with the University of the Cumberlands for the most players named to the team. Seventy-five student-athletes from seven Mid-South institutions were recognized.
