Cumberland Phoenix Sports Performance Center

The Cumberland University strength and conditioning facility, located at Phoenix Plaza adjacent to the main campus, is home for year-round strength and conditioning programs to all Phoenix athletic programs. Athletes work under the supervision of the Director of Strength and Conditioning and all fully-certified staff.

The strength and conditioning facility consists of 10 power racks and six Olympic platforms. Every rack is equipped with both standard and Olympic weights to facilitate a focus on an Olympic-based and free weight strength program. Each power rack is equipped with auxiliary equipment including chains, resistance bands, straps, and physio balls. There are three complete dumbbell racks along with glute-ham development stations.

Leading into the strength and conditioning facility is a 1,000 square-foot artificial turf area designed for warm-up and recovery work as well as plyometric and agility training. The indoor turf provides optimal space to utilize hard foam plyo-safe plyometric boxes, medicine balls, and kettlebell training along with a highly-equipped station used for pre-habilitation, activation, and soft-tissue work.
