Tucker's 27 leads CU over Fisk

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland used a 34-6 run to start the game and the 21st-ranked Bulldogs cruised to a 86-33 victory over Fisk University Friday night at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center during the Rosa Stokes Classic.
Cumberland (9-1) won its seventh straight contest and its second this season versus Fisk. Channing Tucker led the Bulldogs with 27 points and Rodney James added 18 points and nine rebounds.
The Bulldogs shot 57 percent from the field in the first half, including 6-of-15 from 3-point range, taking a 53-14 advantage to the locker room. Tucker scored 16 points before intermission, hitting four 3-pointers, while James added 10 points and five boards.
Fisk made only 27 percent from the floor before the break and committed 14 turnovers, which led to 21 Cumberland points.
CU pushed its lead to as many as 60 points in the second half after another Tucker 3-pointer. The Bulldogs won the battle of the boards, 44-18, with Kenneth Simms grabbing nine caroms as well for the winners.
Torey Cohen-Boseman led Fisk with nine points and six rebounds.
Cumberland will take off for the Christmas break and returns to action January 3 at Campbellsville University.
