Bulldogs picked seventh in MSC Preseason Coaches' Poll

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Cumberland Men’s basketball team was picked seventh in the 2015-16 Mid-South Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll conference officials announced on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs return five letter winners from the 2014-15 campaign to go along with eight newcomers to this year’s squad. Senior guard Telvin Wilkerson will look to lead the offense as he averaged 7.9 points per game and collected 82 rebounds last season.

Juniors Marquel Hickerson and Uros Benacek also return, both saw significant time on the court last year. Hickerson averaged 7.3 points per game and dished out 32 assists while the 6-11 Benacek shot 48 percent from beyond the arc.

Newcomers Ronell Abaekobe, Mark Brown, Cameron Johnson and Devarus Craig will look to make an impact on this year’s team.

Cumberland begins the season on the road at Martin Methodist, November 2 with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT.
