
LEBANON, Tenn. – Garang Madut placed 12th and Alesa Steiner and Keaton Gaffney finished 14th and 15th, respectively, leading the Cumberland cross country teams at the 44th Annual Patty Forgey Invitational in Rio Grande, Ohio.
Madut, a sophomore from Nashville, Tenn., covered the 8K course in 28:52.73 while sophomore Tanner Harp was 17th in 30:34.64. Senior David Cheers and sophomore Spencer Rearick finished 29th and 30th, respectively, with times of 34:38.43 and 35:31.93 and freshman Evan Cole placed 32nd in 36:42.30. Freshman John Daugherty was 36th in 39:04.69.
Steiner, a sophomore from Hendersonville, Tenn., continued her good work this fall along with Gaffney, a sophomore from Mt. Juliet, Tenn., with the duo posting times of 22:55.51 and 22:56.92. Junior Savannah Pitt placed 26th in 25:32.06 on the 5K course, while junior Chelsea Reeves was 32nd in 29:23.59 and freshman Ally Johnson came across on 33:50.39 for 33rd place.
Cumberland runs again next weekend at the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Ky.
