127 named to 2016 Spring Dean's List
LEBANON, Tenn. – One hundred and twenty-seven Cumberland student-athletes, department personnel and athletic training majors were named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2016 semester, as released this week by the University.
116 current, former student-athletes graduating Saturday
LEBANON, Tenn. – One hundred and sixteen current and former Cumberland student-athletes, athletic trainers and athletic staff will receive their degrees this Saturday in the 174th Commencement ceremonies on the lawn of Memorial Hall. It marks the fourth straight year of more than 100 graduates for athletic department student-athletes and personnel.
Phoenix add Rojas to signing class
LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University cross country coach Jim Seckel announced the signing of Alamo, Tenn., native Jerry Rojas to scholarship papers this week for the 2016-17 academic year. Rojas is the second signee for the Phoenix for the upcoming season.

Fall Dean's List announced with 142 student-athletes recognized
LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University announced the 2015 Fall Dean’s List this week, which includes 142 student-athletes, athletic department personnel and athletic training majors. The honor is reserved for students who achieved a grade-point-average of 3.50 or above on all classes attempted during the fall semester.
Five cross country runners named Academic All-MSC
LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland cross country runners Keaton Gaffney, Chelsea Reeves, Alesa Steiner, John Daugherty and Kason Halfacre were all named Mid-South Conference Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the league office Friday before the conference championships in Bowling Green, Ky.

Fall sports take part in community service projects
LEBANON, Tenn. – All six Cumberland fall sports teams that reported to campus this week took part in community service activities around town on Thursday, including a Red Cross blood drive, helping at the Wilson County Community Center, Next Step Resource Center and Habitat for Humanity, and a trip to Cedarcroft Home.

Ten CU squads receive NAIA Scholar-Team Award
LEBANON, Tenn. – Ten Cumberland University squads received the NAIA Scholar-Team Award recognition this week, as announced by the national office. Teams must maintain a minimum 3.0 grade-point-average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution to be eligible for the award, with all eligible varsity student-athletes factored into the team GPA.
