Madut, Harp place in Top 20 at conference meet
Junior Garang Madut finished 14th at the Mid-South Conference Championships, covering 8K in 27:05.2.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Juniors Garang Madut and Tanner Harp each placed in the Top 20 and Cumberland finished fifth as a team at the Mid-South Conference Men’s Cross Country Championships on Saturday in Bowling Green, Ky.

Madut continued his impressive season with a 14th-place showing at the conference championships in 27:05.2 on the 8K course. Harp placed 20th in 27:34.8 while freshmen Chris Swann and Cole Nichols finished 24th and 27th, respectively, with times of 28:00.2 and 28:14.4.

Sophomore Kason Halfacre was 32nd in 28:53.1 and freshman Carlos Tirado was next in 28:52.2. Freshman Michael Rogers came across in 29:05.0 for 35th overall.

Junior Spencer Rearick finished 54th in 30:06.0 and sophomore John Daugherty placed 67th in 33:04.6.

Campbellsville University won the team title with 37 points with Shawnee State second with 43. The Bulldogs finished with 117 points for fifth place behind the University of the Cumberlands and Lindsey Wilson.
