159 named to Spring 2017 Dean's List
LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University released the Dean’s List for Spring 2017 last week with 159 student-athletes and athletic training majors recognized. The honor is reserved for undergraduate students who achieved a grade-point-average of 3.50 or above on all classes attempted during the spring semester.
125 student-athletes set for graduation Saturday
LEBANON, Tenn. – One hundred and twenty-five current and former Cumberland student-athletes, athletic trainers and athletic staff will receive their degrees this Saturday in the 175th Commencement ceremonies on the lawn of Memorial Hall. It marks the fifth straight year of more than 100 graduates for athletic department student-athletes and personnel.
LAST DAY: CU accepting nominations for 2017 Hall of Fame class
LEBANON, Tenn. – The Cumberland University Athletic Department is accepting nominations for the Class of 2017 Sports Hall of Fame until Monday, April 3. Nominations must be made in writing and include full justification for the nomination, including statistics, honors, awards and any other pertinent information about the nominee. The 2017 Hall of Fame dinner is set for Friday, October 6, at 6 p.m. in Baird Chapel.
Community High product Minhovich signs with CU
LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland cross country coach Jim Seckel announced the signing of Community High School product Nate Mihnovich to scholarship papers this week for the 2017-18 academic year. Mihnovich becomes the fifth Phoenix signee for next season.

Three runners earn Second Team All-MSC accolades

LEBANON, Tenn. – Freshman Riley Killian placed 77th and senior Garang Madut finished 66th, pacing the Cumberland cross country teams late Saturday night at the BROOKS Memphis Twilight. The race featured nine Division I and seven Division II programs and more than 225 runners in the men’s and women’s races.

CU hosting All-Sports Camp on Sept. 11
LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University and the Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce Sports Council are teaming up for an 2nd Annual All Sports Camp for Wilson County residents ages 7-12 on Sunday, September 11 from 3-5 p.m. on the CU campus. Registration starts at 2 p.m. that day.
Fall student-athletes take part in Leadership Training, community service
LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University fall athletic teams participated in Leadership Training on Wednesday that included lectures from University staff, CU Character Coach Jim Mike Ward and Tony Johnson, Vice President with Learfield Licensing, along with sessions on social media training and nutrition as well as eligibility.
