Madut, Kilian lead harriers in Louisville

LEBANON, Tenn. – Senior Garang Madut placed 81st among 388 participants for the men and freshman Riley Kilian paced the women once again for the Cumberland cross country teams Saturday at the Greater Louisville Collegiate Classic in Louisville, Ky.

Madut completed the 8K course at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in 26:53.51 for 81st place, while senior Tanner Harp finished 120th in 27:28.11. Freshman Jerry Rojas was right behind in 27:41.67 for 125th and freshman Jake Royster came in 141st in 27:47.42.

Sophomore Chris Swann posted a 179th-place showing in 28:23.42, while junior Kason Halfacre was 207th in 29:10.91 and sophomores Carlos Tirado and Michael Rogers were 215th and 272nd, respectively, with times of 29:18.15 and 29:30.54.

Freshman Jordan Hill finished 277th in 29:40.54 and senior Spencer Rearick was 333rd in 31:20.23.

Kilian led the women for the fourth straight meet, crossing the finish line in 20:03.50 for 129th-place among 406 runners on the 5K course. Freshman Amber Mays placed 162nd in 20:19.79, while sophomore Claudia Tepox was 179th in 20:30.01.

Sophomore Michaela Postell finished 271st in 22:30.41, senior Alesa Steiner came in 273rd in 22:34.42 and sophomore Gavin Duvall was 289th in 23:01.20.
