Cumberland finishes fourth in MSC President's Cup standings
LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University finished fourth among eight schools in the Mid-South Conference President’s Cup standings, conference officials announced recently, the highest finish for the Phoenix since a second-place showing in 2012-13.
135 athletic personnel, student-athletes set for graduation Saturday
LEBANON, Tenn. – One hundred and thirty-five current and former Cumberland student-athletes, athletic trainers and athletic staff will receive their degrees this Saturday in the 176th Commencement ceremonies on the lawn of Memorial Hall. It marks the sixth straight year of more than 100 graduates for athletic department student-athletes and personnel.

Ashland's Sparks inks with CU cross country
LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland cross country coach Jim Seckel announced the signing of Ashland, Ky., native Eric Sparks to scholarship papers this week for the 2018-19 academic year. He is the first Phoenix signee for next season.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Four Cumberland cross country runners – juniors Taylor Blankenship and Chris Swann as well as sophomores Michaela Postell and Jerry Rojas – were named Academic All-Mid-South Conference by the league office on Friday in advance of the league championships this weekend.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University women’s cross country was picked third and the men were selected fourth in the Mid-South Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll released this week by the league office.
Ten squads earn NAIA Scholar Team accolades
LEBANON, Tenn. – The NAIA honored 10 Cumberland athletic squads this week as NAIA Scholar Teams for the 2016-17 academic year. Teams must obtain a 3.00 cumulative grade-point-average or higher for all eligible varsity student-athletes during the past academic year to garner the award.
