Barlow finishes 13th for CU men at Sand Shark

LEBANON, Tenn. – Sophomore Joel Barlow placed 13th and freshman Cornelius Kipchumba finished 19th for Cumberland men’s cross country Saturday at the 12th Annual Sand Shark Invitational in Hardeeville, S.C.

The Phoenix placed ninth among 33 teams and 281 runners in the 8K event at Sergent Jasper Park in Hardeeville.

Barlow posted a time of 26:04.2 for 13th, fourth among NAIA participants, while Kipschumba was 19th with a time of 26:22.3.

Sophomore Nate Mihnovich placed 57th for the Phoenix, crossing the finish line in 27:25.1, and senior Chris Swann was 76th in 27:47.6. Junior was the fifth scorer for Cumberland, finishing 90th in 28:17.9.

Senior Carlos Tirado placed 119th with a time of 29:01.4 and freshman Eric Sparks was 129th in 29:31.0. Sophomore Titus Williams finished 172nd in 29:50.0, sophomore Carlos Angeles-Solis was 188th in 30:19.9 and senior Michael Rogers finished 208th in 31:01.4.

Cumberland competes in two weeks at the Mid-South Conference Championships in Bowling Green, Ky.
