Barlow places eighth, Kipchumba 12th for CU men

LEBANON, Tenn. – Sophomore Joel Barlow finished eighth and freshman Cornelius Kipchumba placed 12th for Cumberland men’s cross country Saturday at the Mid-South Conference Championships on Saturday at Phil Moore Park in Bowling Green, Ky.

Barlow completed the 8K course in 26:14.9, about three seconds from finishing in the Top 5 among the 74 runners who participated in the race. Kipchumba posted a time of 26:38.3 on the almost five-mile course for 12th, only 13 seconds from the Top 10.

Sophomore Nate Mihnovich was 25th for the Phoenix in 27:30.5 while junior Jerry Rojas crossed the finish line in 27:55.4 for 28th. Senior Michael Rogers placed 36th in 29:33.1 and sophomore Carlos Angeles-Solis finished 40th with a time of 30:30.8.

Cumberland posted 109 points as a team for fourth place among the seven teams.
