
PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga.--Phoenix men's golf played 36 holes today at Callaway Gardens as a part of the Skyhawk Invitational hosted by Point University.
The Phoenix shot a first-round 304 and were in 7th place, but after performing eight strokes worse in round two for a 312, Cumberland sits in ninth place with one round tomorrow. Cumberland shot a combined 616 in two rounds.
Truett McConnel leads the tournament with a 569 while Lindsey Wilson follows behind them in second place with a 586. Campbellsville and Southeastern are third and fourth with a 588 and 596, respectively. Point University's B team rounds out the Top-5 with a 597.
Isaac Walker stands in ninth place as an individual after shooting a first-round 73 and improved upon that score with an even-par 72 in the second 18. His combined score is 145 and trails the leader, Nate Thorton from Truett McConnell, by five strokes.
Tomi Accoto shot a 75 and a 79 for 154 and is in a tie for 31st. Adrian Steeger is in a tie for 37th after a 77 and a 78 for 155. Reece Gaddes and Will Samuelsson are in a toe for 60th after 163 two-round totals.
Cumberland is set to tee-off tomorrow morning for the final round.
