The end of the soccer season initiates the start of the recruiting season, and the Bulldogs appear in mid-season form, bringing in four new players for the spring semester. The Soccer 'Dawgs welcome two attacking players from San Fernando, Trinidad. Robert Als and Robert Boyd join the team having matriculated from Presentation College in Trinidad and Tobago. Both players come highly recommended and should add some punch to an offense that struggled to convert scoring chances.
"We created enough scoring chances last season. We simply had trouble finishing," Bulldogs head coach Jeff Loucks said.
The 'Dawgs also welcome two highly touted junior college defenders, Devon Ternent (Edenvale, South Africa) and Adam Owczarzak (Berlin, Germany). The two are transfer students from Young-Harris College in Georgia, one of the elite soccer junior colleges in the nation.
"Hopefully," Loucks said, "these guys can help fill some holes in our lineup. More than anything, we just gave up too many goals last season, especially late in matches. We must solve this problem to be successful."
