CU falls in OT at Trevecca

LEBANON, Tenn. – In a match that featured just 13 combined shots by both teams, Trevecca Nazarene’s Benji Bussell scored in the 98th minute, giving the Trojans a 1-0 victory over Cumberland in men’s soccer action Tuesday night in Nashville, Tenn.
Cumberland (4-4-1, 2-1-0 TranSouth) managed just three total shots in the match, one each from Idris Dosky, Robert Boyd and Juan Pablo Aparicio. Trevecca posted 10 shots in the match with only three on goal, but Bussell’s overtime score was enough to give the home team the victory.
Michael Michailidis took the loss in goal for the Bulldogs, making a pair of saves, while Trevecca keeper Hayden Coffman did not record a save in posting the win.
Cumberland plays at Mid-Continent Saturday at 1 p.m. The Bulldogs have three scheduled matches last week, starting Tuesday at Martin Methodist at 7 p.m.
