LEBANON, Tenn. – Harry Mason’s unassisted goal in the 111th minute ended a defensive struggle, giving Cumberland a 1-0 victory over Oakland City University on Saturday at the CU Soccer Field.
The Bulldogs (5-4-2) have not lost in their last three matches, defeating Kentucky Wesleyan and Oakland City and playing to a 1-1 draw at Lyon College.
CU freshman Ian Hamilton posted the victory in net for the Bulldogs, making two saves and facing 14 total shots from the Mighty Oaks (6-3-1). Hamilton was playing in place of starter Matthew Shattuck, who suffered an injury in practice this week.
Cumberland took 12 shots in the match, with five saves by OCU goalie Matt Ball.
Cumberland plays again next Saturday at Mid-Continent University at 2 p.m.
