Men's soccer falls at MCU, 1-0

LEBANON, Tenn. – Jan Chvojan scored in the 12th minute on a long shot and that was enough for Mid-Continent in a 1-0 victory over Cumberland in men’s soccer action Saturday in Mayfield, Ky.

The loss ended a three match unbeaten streak for the Bulldogs (5-5-2, 0-2-1 TranSouth). The match was very evenly played, with both clubs taking 13 shots, committing eight fouls and earning four corner kicks. There were also five goalie saves for each team – five for MCU’s Adam Lewis and four plus a team save by CU’s Matthew Shattuck.

Cumberland plays at Trevecca Nazarene on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the second of three consecutive matches on the road before returning home October 25 to face Union University.
