LEBANON, Tenn.-- Cathal Coyne was named to the 2022 Mid-South Conference Men’s Soccer Champions of Character team released by conference officials on Wednesday.
"Congratulations to Cathal on being named to the Champions of Character team this season. It is a great honor and well deserved. With recently being named to the academic all conference team and captaining our team all season, he is a brilliant example and representative of our program. We are proud of him and the influence he has on our team," head coach Shane Keely said.
The MSC recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes that are honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on campus and in the community while demonstrating the five core character values of the NAIA.
Bethel's (Tenn.) Jamie Hope, Campbellsville's (Ky.) Elvis Niyokwizera, Cumberland's (Tenn.) Cathal Coyne, Cumberlands' (Ky.) Ingmar Struck, Freed-Hardeman's (Tenn.) Drew Caldwell, Georgetown's (Ky.) Diego Mora, Lindsey Wilson's (Ky.) Rastko Dekic, Pikeville's (Ky.) Gabriel Torres, Shawnee State's (Ohio) Eric Green, Tennessee Southern's Reece Ashurst and Thomas More's (Ky.) Shaun Hudson were all honored with the recognition.
