Three Phoenix Earn Spots in the NAIA Men's ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings

Cumberland, Tenn.-- Three Phoenix earn spots in the NAIA Men’s ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, announced by the ITA officials this afternoon. Pavel Kelo is the only player ranked both nationally and regionally, while he and Adrijan Hrzic find a spot on the national doubles ranking.

Kelo holds the 45th position nationally behind some players who hold onto the top three positions of the NAIA Top 25 teams. He recently had an exciting win over Ilyas Kouchairi of Lindsey Wilson and will look to keep the pressure rolling into this weekend. Kelo is ranked 14th in the east region- just one spot above conference competitor Tiago Alemdia, also out of Lindsey Wilson.

Hrzic and Kelo have had much success as a doubles pairing both this past fall and in the middle stages of spring play. The duo ranks 11th nationally and fourth overall regionally.

Jackson Vaughan is the only other Phoenix to receive a regional rank as he holds down the 19th spot.

The Phoenix will be back on the courts tomorrow, March 17 for a big conference battle. Both the men’s and women’s will take on Shawnee State at 2:30 PM in Portsmouth, Ohio.
