LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University freshmen Kalea Barnett and Martarious Brooks have both qualified for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships set for March 2-4 in Johnson City, Tenn.
Barnett, a Murfreesboro, Tenn., native, won the shot put with a mark of 42-3 last week at the Mid-South Conference Championships. She also finished eighth in the weight throw and will compete in the shot put at the national championships.
Brooks, a Memphis, Tenn., native, placed third in the 200-meters and sixth in the 60-meters last week in Columbus, Ohio. He will participate in the 200 in Johnson City.
The 52nd annual men’s and 37th annual women’s championships will take place at David E. Walker Track at Gentry Field on the East Tennessee State campus.
