
LEBANON, Tenn. – Kalea Barnett won the hammer throw and placed fourth in the discus while Josiah Scott and Caleb Staten finished 2-3 in the hammer and Camryn Jacobs was fourth in the long jump for Cumberland at the Falcon Classic on Friday in Montevallo, Ala.
Barnett won the hammer with a toss of 145-feet, 2-inches among 13 competitors. The Murfreesboro, Tenn., native was fourth in the discus with a mark of 109-9.
Mahogany Huddleston also placed in the hammer with a mark of 128-5.
Scott and Staten paced the men in the hammer with marks of 138-4 and 132-9, respectively, for second and third place. Scott finished fifth in the discus (116-10) and Staten was eighth (108-9).
Jacobs cleared 21-feet, 6-inches for fourth place in the long jump as well.
In the only running event contested Friday, Cornelius Kipchumba finished fifth in the 10,000-meters in a time of 33:12.44.
The remaining field events and all of the running events except for the 10,000 take place Saturday beginning at 8 a.m.
