Bulldogs pull out close one at Lyon

LEBANON, Tenn. – Karli Collins posted her third double-double of the season with 10 digs and 13 kills and Meghan Gass recorded 23 assists while Brooke Bowers added 23 digs in Cumberland’s 3-0 victory Saturday over Lyon College in Batesville, Ark.

The Bulldogs (9-12, 3-3 TranSouth) ended a three-match losing streak with the victory and started a six-match road swing on a good note. CU hit just .095 for the match but pulled out three close sets, 25-19, 25-21, 25-21.

Lauren Carter registered six kills and Mackenzie Gass posted five while Lacey Gregory had eight assists and 10 digs. Jaclyn Rodriguez also recorded 10 digs and Mackenzie Gass had four total blocks in the victory.

Cumberland plays at Covenant College on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT and at Lindsey Wilson on Wednesday, also at 6 p.m.
