LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland volleyball traveled to Freed-Hardeman University Monday night, winning a close first set but then dropping the next three. Mackenzie Gass led the Bulldogs with 10 kills, Jacklyn Munoz contributed seven while Rylee Butler and Jessi Stas added six apiece.

The first set came down to the final points with CU coming out on top 27-25. The Bulldogs were unable to keep it going in the second set falling 25-13.

The third game also was decided at the very end, but this time the Lady Lions came away with a 25-23 victory. FHU rode their momentum through the end up the match, wrapping up the fourth set by a score of 25-10.

Caitlin Carlander had15 assists for CU and Desirae Burris helped out with 12. Brooke Bowers had a game-high 34 digs, Munoz totaled 18, and Jenna Pavan tallied 11.

For FHU, Fernanda Ferreira and Allie Moss each had 18 kills, Renata Ferreira supplied 20 assists, and Callie West had 17 digs.

Cumberland will be on the road tonight versus Trevecca Nazarene at 6 p.m. CT.
