Volleyball Dig Pink, Senior Night matches set

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s volleyball team will host its annual Dig Pink match on Friday, October 26 when the Bulldogs take on Bethel University in a non-conference match and Senior Night will be held on Tuesday, November 6 against St. Catharine College.

Cumberland is teaming up with the Side-Out Foundation with the common goal of furthering breast cancer awareness, education and patient services.

“We are proud to be a part of this nationwide event,” CU head coach Dwayne Deering said. “We hope we can help raise awareness in any way possible.”

CU volleyball players will wear special pink jerseys and accessories and fans are also encouraged to wear pink as well as make donations to the Side-Out Foundation. Donations can be made at the door the night of the match.

A serving contest will take place between the second and third set with prizes for the winners. Cumberland will also give away Dig Pink t-shirts and other items during the match.

Cumberland senior Brooke Bowers along with the families of all of the CU players will be honored before the match against St. Catharine on Nov. 6. The Bulldogs have just four home matches left in the 2012 campaign, starting with the Oct. 26 outing versus Bethel. CU also plays Martin Methodist on Oct. 31 and Trevecca Nazarene on Nov. 1.
